Interesting quote from "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance"

Hi - I'm reading "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance" by Tony Dungy, Nathan Whitaker and wanted to share this quote with you.

"People often ask the question, "Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?" Obviously, there are no easy answers to that question. But I do know this: God is constantly working in us through it all, molding and shaping us into what He created us to be, and it's in the valleys of our failures where He is working the hardest, making us into something uncommon."

Interesting quote from "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance"

Hi - I'm reading "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance" by Tony Dungy, Nathan Whitaker and wanted to share this quote with you.

"If there were ever areas in which we seem to have switched the price tags, it's in the areas of education and athletics. If we could choose the future for our young sons, how many of us would choose that they get a Ph.D. in physics over becoming the starting shortstop for the New York Yankees? For most of us, I think the answer would probably be, "Tony, I simply want what's best for him and wouldn't want to force him to play for the Yankees. A small-market team would be fine, too." You can probably write a similar conversation for the futures we have in mind for our daughters."

Interesting quote from "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance"

Hi - I'm reading "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance" by Tony Dungy, Nathan Whitaker and wanted to share this quote with you.

"Life is challenging. I wish I could tell you that you'll always be on top of the mountain, but the reality is that there are days when nothing will go right, when not only will you not be on top, you may not even be able to figure out which way is up. Do yourself a favor, and don't make it any harder than it has to be. In those moments, be careful how you speak to yourself; be careful how you think of yourself; be careful how you conduct yourself; be careful how you develop yourself."

From "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance"

"When it is all said and done, my reputation doesn't matter. It's important, but what others think of me is simply out of my control. What does matter, however, is what I think of me. My integrity. That is something I can control—by taking care of the little things, day in and day out, when no one is watching. Because I am—and God is."
